Yesterday I made the trip down to Lexington, KY to get a third race in on the weekend. Easy but long drive down there.
A sweet course, a 6 corner L-shaped course. You go down the S/F stretch, make a left 90 up a small hill, then another left 90 and continues up. Half way on that stretch, you start to decent. Another 90 left then a 90 right from a wide 4 lane to a single lane alley. Shoot down this alley and make a 90 left then a quick 90 left into the S/F stretch.
Texas Roadhouse brought 4 or 5 guys (can't exactly remember) to the crit and pretty much dominated the whole race. They kept things in check and they made a few attempts on their own to get away. But it was Roadhouse vs everyone else so the field kept them in check.
I figured out where I can pass and where I was having trouble and pretty much stayed out of trouble. Going into the final few laps, Roadhouse went to the front and set up for the finish. Last lap I made a few passes and put myself in good position for the sprint.
The sprint started right as we got onto the S/F, some 3-400m away from the line so I stayed tucked in as long as I could and beat 6th place by a hair to be last in the money. Roadhouse went 1-2 but I'm sure I made more money then them if you consider the splits.
Good weekend of results and I'm pleased with my form. Good think is, I am still building.
